Amethyst color, dark violet, sometimes pinkish tones
Mohs 9 hardness scale
Small, irregular, conchoid fracture
Not exfoliation
To set without complications, both in claw and rail.
Although it can be set in casting wax, it is at risk of losing color if metal and cylinder temperatures are not very controlled. This technique is not recommended for amethyst synthetic sapphire
